Sheri Jackson, one of our receptionists, says she enjoys building relationships with our clients. She has been with Mandarin Animal Hospital since 2004.
“I like working at Mandarin Animal Hospital because we are a family,” she says. “The staff is very professional, knowledgeable and caring.”
Her pets include two cats named Stormi and Wasabi, and two parakeets named Bobby and Poppy. Sheri likes to spend her free time with her kids (Cara and Aaron) as well as going to yard sales, and traveling.
Brook Ledsome's friendly personality makes her a perfect fit in her role as receptionist at Mandarin Animal Hospital. Her duties vary but include checking pets in for their appointments, maintaining positive customer service with clients, supervising hospital inventory and answering clients' questions and phone calls. Her favorite part of her job is "playing with the puppies!" she said. Brook joined our staff in March, 2013.
The hospital's positive atmosphere is an element that Brook appreciates about her job. "Everyone here truly enjoys their job. We all want to make sure the pets and clients are taken care of properly," she said. "Every day I learn more about the practice. We love all our clients and they love us!"
Brook enjoys being outside and in her spare time can be found fishing, playing paintball or volleyball. She lives at home with her Chihuahua, Bebe.
Receptionist and veterinary assistant Shanna Brown joined the Mandarin Animal Hospital staff in September 2012. Her responsibilities include client care, patient check-in, making everyone happy, and giving patients lots of love. She prides herself on her excellent memory and ability to remember every client and patient she meets.
Of the hospital, she says, "The small practice atmosphere makes it possible for the clients and the staff to make personal connections. I love being able to see the animals' growth or see improvements that they make."
In her spare time, Shanna enjoys bowling, going to the dog park, cooking, and snowboarding. She has two dogs, Betty (Great Dane) and Peaches (Boxer mix), and two Bengal cats, Bruce and Ellie.
Deryck Allen Mosley has been a Kennel Assistant at Mandarin Animal Hospital since August of 2000, which is also when he began his career in animal care. He adds that he intends to begin studying for a Bachelor of Science in Applied Science soon.
Asked why he enjoys his work so much, Deryck says, “Because Dr. Gordon, the former owner of the hospital, took very good care of our horses for our entire lives. My brother now owns the hospital and working with him is awesome. I’m very proud of my brother, Dr. Mosley, and couldn’t imagine working anywhere else.”
Deryck’s pets include a Chow mix named Shevy, Chihuahua named Trinket, and two cats named Poot and Miss Dent. His interests are playing World of Warcraft, City League Softball, being an avid basketball player and fan, and he says he is a car junkie.
Veterinary Technician Carrie Dietz's proactive approach and outgoing personality have proven valuable while aiding clients and their pets during her two years as a member of our staff. Carrie's responsibilities include performing laboratory analysis, taking x-rays and assisting our veterinarians with operations and procedures.
"I love learning new information and I like the smaller hospital environment. It allows us to get to know the pets and clients on a more personal level," said Carrie. She is a member of several professional associations, including the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, American Animal Hospital Association, National Association of Veterinary Technicians, National Wildlife Federation, and the Humane Society Veterinary Medical Association.
Carrie loves spending time with her family, especially at the beach. She enjoys baseball and reading and has one dog, Daisy.
Andrew Mensching is a Veterinary Technician who joined Mandarin Animal Hospital in February 2013. His responsibilities include surgical and x-ray assistance and client education. He particularly enjoys helping critical patients reach full recovery.
Outside work, Andrew spends his time fishing, kayaking, wakeboarding, hunting, skiing, and playing football. He has a domestic shorthair named Gray Kitty.
Certified Veterinary Dental Technician Erin Machin brought 13 years of experience with her when she joined the Mandarin Animal Hospital staff in September 2012. Erin's numerous
responsibilities include running laboratory tests, performing dental x-rays, administering medications, monitoring hospitalized patients and assisting doctors during surgery.
Erin enjoys working with the small, tight-knit team at Mandarin Animal Hospital, adding that "we help each other out and our animal care and compassion are outstanding."
Erin has one dog (Ivy), two cats (Marvin and Alvin) and three Koi fish. She enjoys gardening, reading and spending as much time as possible with her daughter.
Veterinary Assistant Brian Citino's determination and fondness for animals make him a special part of our veterinary team here at Mandarin Animal Hospital. Brian has many job responsibilities including assisting the animals during examinations, maintaining the veterinary instruments, and conducting in-house laboratory tests on pets. He earned his bachelor's degree in biology and is currently working toward his master's degree in biology. Brian joined our staff in February, 2013.
"The staff here at Mandarin Animal Hospital provides an enjoyable environment with a family-like setting. Having Dr. Mosley as a mentor is important because he displays constant professionalism and conducts intellectual conversations with the staff that instills knowledge," Brian said.
When not at the office, Brian cares for his two cats, Charlie and Darth, and his two lizards, Arikawe and Starburst. He also enjoys fishing, shark teeth hunting and writing.
Kennel Assistant Raymond Prince has been with Mandarin Animal Hospital since September of 2011, and has been working professionally with animals since 1996. He takes pride in the work he does, and stays focused on "keeping everyone healthy" during their stay at the Hospital.
Ray spends as much of his spare time as possible with his family as well as landscaping and fishing.
Kennel Assistant Paige Roberts became part of the Mandarin Animal Hospital team in October 2012. She helps to ensure a pleasant visit for clients and their pets by assisting with animal care and treatment, customer service and general hospital cleanliness.
"Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. We help each other perform tasks and we have great clients and patients who we look forward to seeing," Paige said. She enjoys 'being hands-on with the animals and knowing I am making a difference."
Paige holds a bachelor's degree in photography, her passion away from work. She enjoys drawing, designing and running and owns two mini Australian Shepherds, Kiah (6) and Zali (1).
Groomer Ashlyn Russell loves "making sure that dogs look fantastic!" With over 600 hours of grooming school and experience, Ashlyn is well trained in making animals look and feel their best.
Working in a clean, well-kept and organized facility is important to Ashlyn and she has found that in Mandarin Animal Hospital. She also enjoys working with the friendly and personal staff.
When not grooming furry friends, Ashlyn enjoys attending grooming competitions, baking, and spending time with family. Ashlyn has one dog named Sophie and a cat named Simba.
